Low daily chances for rain as April ends and May begins this week
Only a handful of brief, isolated showers or storms formed across central and south Alabama Sunday afternoon. For the rain-free locations, it was a partly to mostly sunny and very warm day. High temperatures were in the upper 80s to low 90s (!!!) in most locations. Sunday night looks partly cloudy and dry, with lows in the low to mid 60s.
Chances for rain remain low through the end of April. However, isolated afternoon showers and storms likely form Monday. Again, many locations remain dry, with a partly cloudy sky otherwise and high temperatures in the mid 80s. Rain coverage looks even lower Tuesday and Wednesday, with only stray showers or storms forming each afternoon. Otherwise, each day looks partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Rain chances rise late this week as a cold front pushes into the southeast. However, showers and storms remain scattered in nature late Thursday into Friday. It looks like the front pushes south of our area Friday night. That may result in dry weather with sunshine next weekend. Temperatures could be slightly cooler too. It looks like mainly dry weather may continue for the first few days of next week too.
