Woman shot and killed on Park Towne Way in Montgomery

Montgomery police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a woman dead.

Police  say the shooting happened at about 11:39PM last night in the 4700 block of Park Towne Way, which is just off Troy Highway.

Police say a woman was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

She has been identified as 31-year-old Calynthia Mitchell of Montgomery.

Police have now launched a death investigation. They have released no other information.
