Rounds of showers and storms Thursday evening through Saturday

A few showers and storms moved through part of central and south Alabama early Thursday afternoon. After that, our area was mainly dry, and some sunshine broke through lingering clouds. A few more showers and storms remain possible Thursday evening. However, Thursday night trends mainly dry with a partly to mostly cloudy sky and lows in the mid 60s.

Our weather pattern remains wet and stormy Friday and Saturday. Friday morning may be relatively dry, but showers and storms develop Friday afternoon. They linger at least into the evening. A few storms may be strong to severe, capable of damaging wind and hail. A marginal (level 1/5) severe risk covers the northwest half of our area Friday. Some showers and storms may continue Friday night into Saturday morning, but likely remain sub-severe.

More showers and storms form and move across our area Saturday afternoon and evening. A cold front pushes through our area Saturday night, ending rain west to east. Sunshine finally returns Sunday. Temperatures remain cooler in the wake of the front, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Sunday night lows fall into the 50s. Our weather remains mainly dry early next week, but rain chances return late next week.
