Demopolis community celebrates Small Business Week

The city of Demopolis is honoring the city’s small business community.

Waka Demopsmallbiz0505 VoMayor Woody Collins signed a proclamation celebrating the contributions that entrepreneurs and small business owners make in the community.

Collins says small businesses are the backbone and economic engine of the city.

“They create jobs. They provide resources. And the support they give our community is really invaluable,” said Monica King with the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Small businesses are such an important part of any community, of any city. It’s just nice to be recognized occasionally for the hard work an effort we put into our towns and cities.” said business owner Hugh Overmyer.

National Small Business Week runs from May 4th through 10th.
