Victim killed in Troy shooting identified
Troy police have released the name of the man killed in a shooting over the weekend.
The fatal shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Dunn Circle.
As officers arrived on the scene, multiple gunshots were heard. Shortly thereafter, officers located a male victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid and began CPR until Troy Fire and
EMS personnel arrived.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Nyreesh Amari Smith, of Pike County.
The Troy Police Department is actively investigating this case and is seeking assistance from the public.
