1 dead, 1 injured in Marengo County crash

A two-vehicle crash in Marengo County has claimed the life of a Camden teenager and injured one other person.

The crash happened around 7:05 p.m. Friday on U.S. 43 near the 127 mile marker, approximately seven miles south of Demopolis.

ALEA says the 18-year-old was fatally injured when the 2016 Nissan Altima the teen was a passenger in, hit a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The teen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. ALEA says the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was injured and taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis for medical treatment.

Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
