City of Montgomery launches ambassador program

The City of Montgomery has launched a new ambassadors program, which is designed to improve downtown.

Eight full-time ambassadors will cover 30 blocks, working to improve conditions for those living, working and visiting the downtown area.

A Smart tracking system will monitor progress block by block, producing data that will be used to make continuous improvements.

“This program offers a 50% matching grant of up to $15,000 to help eligible businesses improve their store fronts and strengthen their presence in the main street of Montgomery District,” Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said.

Applications for the program are being accepted. Funds can be used by businesses for updates to their exteriors, interior renovations and other upgrades.
