Multiple rounds of rain and storms through Mother’s Day weekend

Gloomy weather with a mainly cloudy sky returned Friday morning. However, rain coverage was fairly low through midday. Although, some light to moderate rain was falling across the southwest part of the state. Rain and some storms may gradually become more widespread Friday afternoon. Steady light to moderate rain may remain fairly widespread through Friday evening and Friday night.

Wet and stormy weather continues Mother’s Day weekend. A shower or storm looks possible at just about any time Saturday or Sunday. While it may not rain all day in any particular location, any spot could get multiple showers or storms. Rain could be heavy at times. Fortunately, the severe risk looks very low this weekend. Although, a few severe storms capable of damaging wind and hail appear possible Sunday.

Rain continues into next week. However, shower/storm coverage looks lower Monday into Tuesday. Looks like dry weather with sunshine returns Wednesday. That may continue through the end of next week. Even next weekend could be mainly dry. Meanwhile, temperatures trend warmer, with highs in the mid to upper 80s Wednesday and beyond.
