New boutique hotel coming to historic bank building in Andalusia
A new boutique hotel is coming to a landmark Andalusia building that has been vacant for decades.
City leaders have announced plans to open The Andalusian, which will represent a public-private partnership investment of $11 million.
The former First National Bank building will be converted into the 58-room hotel. The six-story building was constructed in 1922 and sits on the Covington County Courthouse square.
Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson told Action 8 News that he hopes that this will help the city grow in ways that others may have never considered.
It’s hoped that the hotel will open within a year.
