McDonald’s says it’s planning to hire up to 375,000 people ahead of the busy summer season.

This would be the company’s largest hiring push in five years.

McDonald’s has 13,000 U.S. restaurants and it says it’s preparing to open 900 new locations over the next two years.

The hiring spree comes as McDonald’s recently reported its second consecutive quarter of declines as customers pull back on spending. Sales at its U.S. locations fell more than 3.5%.

That’s its worst drop since the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
