YMCA of Greater Montgomery celebrates successful annual fundraising campaign

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is celebrating the largest annual fundraising total in its history.

This year’s two-month campaign raised $1.5 million.

Last night, a celebration was held in Millbrook for donors, volunteers and others who helped raise the money.

The proceeds will be used to help children and families who would like to be a part of activities and programs at the YMCA.

“All of our staff and volunteers, honestly they’re some of the most committed individuals I’ve ever worked with,” YMCA of Greater Montgomery President and CEO AJ Hernandez told Action 8 News.

“Truly, they see the heart of the mission of the Y and they believe in it, and so when you believe in something and put your passion towards it, and that’s first in this campaign. I’m really blessed to be able to be a part of this and to be able to show that ‘Hey, we can do more right!’ Our community needs us to do more and so we step up to the plate,” he said.

If you weren’t able to give money to the annual campaign, you still have time. The YMCA is taking donations on its website and you can also support their summer sponsorship program.
