Prattville names Christina Steiner as their next Softball Coach

Prattville High School officially announces Christina Steiner as their next Head Softball Coach. Steiner will also serve as the Athletic Director for Prattville Junior High School, and Assistant to the Prattville High School Athletic Department.

Coach Steiner Leak brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished coaching career spanning over two decades at the high school, NAIA, and NCAA Division I levels. She has accumulated over 700 career coaching victories and has consistently built championship-caliber programs while mentoring student-athletes to success both on and off the field.

She has served as a Head Softball Coach at two NCAA Division I institutions—Alabama State University and Florida International University—where she elevated both programs through player development, conference championships, and postseason appearances.

At Alabama State, she led the program to the 2019 SWAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth, coached the SWAC Newcomer of the Year, and multiple all-conference selections. Her 2017 squad finished as SWAC Runner-Up and earned a spot in the NISC Postseason Tournament, winning the first postseason game in school history. In 2016, she led the program to its first-ever SWAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, earning College Sports Madness SWAC Coach of the Year.

Most recently, Coach Steiner Leak led Southern Union State Community College to a runner-up finish in the 2024 ACCC Conference Championship, and in 2023, guided Brewbaker Tech Magnet School to the AHSAA 5A State Championship, earning multiple accolades including AHSAA High School Coach of the Year, Montgomery Area Coach of the Year, and coaching the AHSAA State Player of the Year.

Earlier in her career at Auburn University–Montgomery, she captured the 2014 NAIA National Championship—the first in school history—earning recognition as the NAIA and NFCA National Coach of the Year, SSAC Female Coach of the Year, and SSAC Softball Coach of the Year. She was also honored as SSAC Coach of the Year in 2006 and was nominated for South Alabama’s Leading Ladies in 2018. She was inducted into the Robertsdale High School Hall of Fame in 2006–2007 for her outstanding contributions as both a coach and athlete.

As a former standout at Auburn University, Coach Steiner Leak was a two-time team captain and SEC All-Academic Team selection.

Prattville High School Athletic Director Blake Boren shared his enthusiasm, stating:
