Baptist Medical Center South responds to water leak

Workers and administrators at Baptist Medical Center South had to take action following a water leak.

The leak happened yesterday inside an IT network closet in the South Tower. The hospital reports that no one was injured and the hospital remained fully operational, including the emergency room, which is Montgomery’s busiest.

Patients were temporarily relocated within the hospital, elective procedures were canceled and patients who were scheduled
to go home were discharged.

Hospital officials say their other campuses were on standby to take patients if needed and hundreds of employees worked tirelessly to ensure patients got medications and meals.

Equipment, and staff were relocated according to what was needed.

The staff is continuing to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.
