Isolated storms Sunday; Dry, hot early next week; Rain Wednesday
Seems routine at this point in the month of May, but the weekend started on a wet and stormy note yet again. We had a lull in showers and storms during the early afternoon, but a few storms developed in south Alabama by the late afternoon. One of these storms became severe, and was capable of damaging wind gusts and hail in excess of 1″ diameter size. However, nearly all of the showers and storms faded away by 9PM Saturday.
The rest of the night looks mainly dry, mostly cloudy, warm, and humid with lows near 70°. Sunday becomes partly to mostly sunny and hot, with high temperatures near 90°. However, isolated storms appear possible, mainly during the afternoon. A few may become strong to severe, capable of damaging wind or hail, similar to Saturday. Although, many locations may not see rain at all.
Next week begins mainly dry and hot, with high temperatures in the low 90s Monday and Tuesday. A cold front arrives Wednesday. Expect scattered showers or storms during the day as a result. Looks like the front pushes through and southeast of Alabama late Wednesday. That results in dry weather with lower humidity and at least slightly cooler temperatures Thursday and Friday. Memorial Day weekend may begin mainly dry, but rain appear possible Monday.
