A Severe Storm Threat Tonight Into Early Wednesday Morning

We have a strong to severe storm threat for our area tonight into early Wednesday morning.  The NOAA weather radio transmitters will not be operational tonight.  You will need to have other ways to receive warnings.  We encourage you to download our weather app and stay weather aware.

The storm threat will continue into early Wednesday morning.  Storms will advance eastward through the overnight hours.  Some of the storms will be capable of damaging wind gust up to 60 mph, quarter size hail and we can’t rule out a tornado.   We expect the storms to weaken and exit our southern counties around 3am.

The rest of the work week is looking rather nice!  High pressure will build over the deep south and that will help provide us mainly clear and dry conditions.  The air mass will be less humid leading to some really nice mornings. Temps will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows and daytime highs in the mid 80s for several days.

Memorial Day weekend will have the chance for showers and t-storms each day.  We should see an increase in rain/storm coverage on Monday. Temps will climb into the mid 80s for highs and lows in the lower to mid 60s.
