ACTION 8 UPDATE: Both suspects in the Tallassee triple shooting arrested
Tallassee police say the two men wanted for a shooting earlier this week are now in custody.
The incident happened around 4:53 p.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Highway 229.
Once officers and fire medics arrived, they found a 9-month-old and a two-year-old with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
While processing the scene, Tallassee police were notified of an additional adult gunshot victim who was dropped off at Tallassee Community Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The adult victim was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for further medical treatment.
Investigators say identified Devonte Tyus and Jartavious Jackson, both of Tallassee, as the suspects.
Warrants were secured on both suspects for Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle.
Tyus is currently in the Elmore County Jail on a $280,000 bond, while Jackson is also in the Elmore County Jail on a $1.2 million dollar bond.
