Meals on Wheels holds annual golf tournament fundraiser

Meals on Wheels Montgomery Metro Area held its the 24th Annual Drive for Meals on Wheels Golf Classic at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail yesterday.

This tournament raises important funds to provide nutritious meals and daily wellness checks for homebound seniors in the Montgomery metro area.

Every swing helps fight hunger and isolation. Meals on Wheels delivers 450 hot meals five days a week.

“It’s our messaging how we communicate the need of the seniors who we support and take care of, and I think people really respond to that everybody knows what Meals on Wheels is, what we do, and why that’s important, and everybody’s been touched by this in some way, either a grandparent or parent or friend, people are just really responsible to that we have an aging population and we need to take care of them,” CEO Christ Turman told Action 8 News.
