i-TEAM: Who killed Montgomery mother Latricia McDade?
ACTION 8 NEWS i-TEAM: A mother was shot dead in her car while waiting for a train to pass in Montgomery in 2018, but her killer is still on the loose.
Latricia McDade was the mother of four, a sister to three and friend to many others.
“She was very, very outspoken,” her sister Kadeja McDade told Action 8 News. “She loved to hang out with family, she loved to be with family and friends. She made everybody laugh. She was just all around a good person though, very good person.”
On September 20, 2018, Latricia McDade was on her way home to iron clothes for her children, when she had to stop for a train on North Pass Road and Alabama River Parkway.
That’s where police say two people near McDade got into a argument which quickly turned deadly. One of them pulled out a gun and started firing, catching McDade in the crossfire. She was rushed to Jackson Hospital where she later died.
“She was killed senselessly and we want answers,” Kadeja McDade said. “I feel like her kids and our family deserve to know. Our sister’s life should be a priority and that justice is served.”
Tony Garrett of Central Alabama CrimeStoppers hopes someone will pick up the phone with information, even though the shooting happened seven years ago.
“Even though it’s been a period of time that has passed, a lot of people are still hurting. So it’s good for the family members to talk about it and have a healthy conversation so they can rationalize what actually happened.”
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. You can remain anonymous. Call (334) 215-STOP if you have a tip to help investigators.
