New computer and technology hub opening in downtown Marion

Main Street Marion is putting the final touches on a new computer and technology hub in downtown Marion.

The new Harris Technology Hub is in the old Nathan Harris building.

The facility will feature 20 computers and a fiber optic router that will provide WiFi to the lab and downtown area. MainStreet Marion officials say the hub will be a multi-purpose space, providing technology training for people in the community.

Training will include an emphasis on STEM – science, technology, engineering and math.

The hope is to create a better work force in Marion that will attract new industry.

The hub features cafe-style seating and a coffee cafe.

The ribbon is being cut tonight.
