CAMPAIGN 2026: Former U.S. Navy SEAL enters Alabama U.S. Senate race
CAMPAIGN 2026: Now that U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville has announced his campaign for governor, the first Republican candidate has jumped into the race for Tuberville’s current office.
Jared Hudson, a former U.S. Navy SEAL from Birmingham, says he will run for U.S. Senate.
Hudson is the founder and CEO of the anti-trafficking nonprofit Covenant Rescue Group.
He calls himself a political outsider, a Christian, conservative warrior who will have President Trump’s back.
“I’ve spent my life taking the fight to America’s enemies. Now it’s time to continue the mission in Washington,” Hudson said in a statement. “I’ll be a warrior for President Trump’s America First Agenda.”
Hudson is married and has three children.
One Democrat, Kyle Sweetser of Mobile, has entered the race.
The Alabama primaries are May 19, 2026.
