Sylacauga man charged in Alexander City murder

A Sylacauga man is in custody in connection to a fatal shooting in Alexander City.

The shooting happened on May 26 in the 400 block of Oak Street West. Once officers arrived, they found Anthony Darnell Mack, Jr., of Alexander City, with several gunshot wounds.

Mack was taken to Russell Medical Center where he later died.

According to court records, 23-year-old Lajavious Davon Stone intentionally caused the death of Mack by shooting him six times in the area.

Stone is charged with murder and is currently in the Tallapoosa County Jail.
