Cool Saturday night, mainly dry Sunday, trending hotter next week

Saturday was a pleasant final day of May across central and south Alabama weather-wise. Temperatures were in the 50s to low 60s at sunrise. Humidity was fairly low throughout the day. High temperatures were only in the upper 70s to low 80s in most locations, near 10° below the May 31st average high temperature in Montgomery (89°). Sunshine was abundant, but some haze filled the sky. That was due to Canadian wildfire smoke.

Saturday night remains mainly clear with lows in the low 60s. Sunday looks partly cloudy, with more clouds during the afternoon. Temperatures remain below average for our first day of June, with highs in the mid 80s. Sunday night becomes mostly clear with lows likely in the low 60s again. Monday and Tuesday look mostly sunny, dry, and a bit warmer, with highs in the upper 80s both days.

Wednesday looks partly cloudy and likely remains dry. Stray showers appear possible Thursday and Friday. Temperatures peak near 90° each day. Showers or storms appear possible next weekend. However, neither Saturday nor Sunday look like washouts. Rather, they may resemble routine summer days with afternoon/evening isolated to widely scattered showers or storms.
