Oracle to lay off 65 workers in Montgomery at end of June
Some workers in Montgomery will be losing their jobs at the end of June.
Oracle says it will lay off 65 people effective June 30.
The Texas-based software company notified the state of its intentions last month. The Alabama Department of Commerce posted the layoffs on its Warn List page, which notifies the public about major layoffs at businesses statewide.
The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce told AL.com that the layoffs are tied to a contract for IT services with businesses.
Other recent large layoffs in our area include 244 from the JOANN distribution center in Opelika in March and 491 from the Big Lots distribution center in Montgomery in January.
