Man arrested in Dadeville shooting

Dadeville police say a man is in custody related to a shooting over the weekend.

Details are limited, but Dadeville police say the shooting happened Friday morning on College Street.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Dadeville police say the suspect, 47-year-old Melvin Ford, was taken into custody at a home Monday in Dadeville.

Ford is currently in the Tallapoosa County Jail on an attempted murder charge.
