Two contraband arrests made at state prison in Barbour County
Two people have been arrested on contraband charges at Easterling Correctional Facility in Barbour county.
The Alabama Department of Corrections says on Sunday, June 8, K-9 personnel were told that there were trespassers on the prison property in Clio. ADOC says K-9 dogs were able to track the scent and the two suspects were quickly found.
Prison officials have identified the suspects as Ronnie Black and Deantrez Sanders. They were taken to the Barbour County Jail.
Both have been charged with three counts of drug trafficking, promoting prison contraband, and trespassing.
State prison officials say the following contraband was recovered:
- 38 grams of cocaine
- 230 grams of methamphetamines
- 10 grams of fentanyl
- 230 gram of marijuana
- 2.5 pounds of tobacco
