Hot & Humid With Scattered Showers & T-storms
Summer heat and humidity will be in full force across the area this week. 90+ degree high temps will become the norm. Scattered showers and t-storms will still be around but their numbers will be fewer over the mid and latter half of the week.
In the meantime, afternoon showers and t-storms will be around but not everyone sees them. Where the storms do occur, you can expect heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.  The storms will weaken and die out late evening. It’s looking partly cloudy with temps hovering in the lower to mid 70s overnight.
A disturbance will swing through the deep south Tuesday afternoon. This feature along with the afternoon heating will trigger a round of showers and t-storms. We’re thinking the coverage will be a bit more widespread than today. Temps will still manage upper 80s to lower 90s for highs.
The rest of the week will continue to be hot and humid. Those afternoon showers and t-storms will be around but fewer in number. Temps will manage the upper 80s to lower 90s for highs. Overnight low temps will range between 70 to 75 degrees.
Our upcoming weekend is looking even hotter! Temps are expected to reach the lower to mid 90s for highs. You factor in the humidity and it will probably feel more like 100. The old dreaded heat index may slowly becoming more of a factor. It’s going to be thinking about slowing down and taking it a little easier during those peak heating hours.
