Deputies arrest man for assault and kidnapping in Montgomery
A man has been arrested on charges related to an assault and kidnapping.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded Monday to the 1200 block of West South Boulevard.
Once they arrived, they safely recovered the adult female victim and she was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A short time later, deputies located and arrested 26-year-old Amajay Nelson-Cox.
According to court documents, Nelson-Cox poured an accelerant into the victim’s body and lit her on fire.
Nelson-Cox is charged with Assault 1st degree and Kidnapping 1st degree. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on no bond.
