City of Montgomery to host block party aimed at reducing violence and fostering hope
The City of Montgomery and key officials are coming together to help foster hope and reduce violence in the city.
The “Hope and Opportunity Day” Block Party will take place on Saturday, June 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 164 E. South Boulevard.
Officials say the block party will provide resources, support and opportunities in a safe and engaging environment.
In addition to providing hope and reducing violence, organizers say their goal is to empower young men to become positive contributors to their communities.
The program aligns with the City’s “Together We Rise” public safety plan and aims to address the disproportionate impact of violence on young Black men in Montgomery.
