Troy Police Department looking for new officers
The Troy Police Department is in search of people who may have what it takes to help protect and serve by joining the police department.
Troy Police Chief Danny Barron tells Action 8 News that starting pay is around $52,000, not including overtime and other benefits.
Applicants can expect to take a 14-week state academy, background check and physical fitness test, including running a mile and a half in 15 minutes and 28 seconds.
During that six month period of training, all expenses are paid and each officer is supported each step of the way. There is no out of pocket cost for those with a degree or who have taken the work keys exam within the last 5 years.
