Plenty of heat with some showers/storms Sunday into next week
Sunday was the first full day of summer 2025 after the solstice on Friday. It certainly felt that way, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s with higher heat indices. Quite a few showers and storms formed during the afternoon, curbing the heat in many locations by the evening. Our area was rain-free by about 9PM in the evening, and likely remains dry for the rest of the night. The sky becomes partly cloudy with lows in the low 70s.
Sunday looks like another hot and humid day, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Showers and storms become isolated to widely scattered during the afternoon. They linger into the evening, then fade away Sunday night. Rain coverage remains low early next week. That results in more widespread and longer-lasting heat. Afternoon temperatures peak in the mid 90s in many locations Monday through Wednesday.
Rain chances rise late next week. That likely helps curb the heat a bit. Afternoon temperatures peak in the low to mid 90s Thursday, then low 90s Friday through next weekend. Showers and storms become widely scattered next Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances remain decent early the following week, while high temperatures remain in the low 90s.
