Camp Success at Troy University helps prepare Deaf Students for College
Troy University in partnership with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, hosts Camp Success, a program designed to better prepare deaf or hard of hearing high school seniors, juniors and recent high school graduates for college.
The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services has a mission to prepare deaf and hearing impaired individuals for the workforce. Camp Success furthers that mission to help students navigate their way through college.
In a partnership with Troy University the department helps students find their professional independence, a journey that for most begins with college. Students get to walk in their future shoes on campus learning to advocate for themselves and for others learning social and practical skills and learning things they might need at college like captioning to better understand lectures or early registration.
