High Heat Continues With The Addition Of Strong To Severe Storms

The summer heat and humidity will be in full force through Wednesday afternoon.  Temps will soar into the 90s for highs but feels like temps will range between 100 to 106.  Fortunately, rain chances will be increasing Wednesday through the later half of the week.  More shower or t-storms around will help us beat the heat in spots.

In the meantime, we expect a quiet evening and overnight period.  Our sky will be mostly clear with temps hovering the in the 80s through evening and only falling into the mid 70s for overnight lows.

Wednesday will start out  mostly sunny and temps will climb into the mid 90s by midday.  You factor in the humidity and it will feel more like 100 to 106.  A few isolated showers or t-storms will develop early afternoon but more widespread coverage will ramp up around 4pm. Some storms could be strong to possibly severe going into the evening hours. The main threat will be damaging wind gust up to 60mph.

We expect scattered showers and t-storms to develop in the afternoon heating the rest of this week and over the weekend. Storms that do occur will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds. Temps will come down but still reaching the lower 90s for highs. Heat index values will range between 95 to 100.
