ACTION 8 UPDATE: Two more suspects charged with kidnapping, assault in Montgomery
ACTION 8 UPDATE: Two more suspects are under arrest in a kidnapping and assault investigation in Montgomery.
According to court documents, 24-year-old Daniel Robertson of Millbrook and 18-year-old Jai Paige Mister of Montgomery both face charges of kidnapping and assault.
As Action 8 News reported earlier this month, 26-year-old Amajay Nelson-Cox faces the same charges.
The charges stem from an attack on a woman that happened Monday, June 16. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1200 block of West South Boulevard.
Once they arrived, they rescued the woman, who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
According to court documents, Nelson-Cox poured an accelerant onto the woman and lit her on fire.
The documents say Robertson held the woman against her will, demanding money before assaulting her. Robertson provided Nelson-Cox with the accelerant, flame torch, bleach and a screwdriver, the documents said. Robertson heated the screwdriver with the torch and handed it to Nelson-Cox and watched the woman get burned, whipped with a belt and set on fire, the documents said.
Mister held the victim against her will, demanding she or her mother pay Nelson-Cox, then assaulted her, according to the court documents. Mister had her strip all of her clothes off and watched the victim get burned with the screwdriver, according to the documents.
