Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Foundation honors students

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Foundation is presenting scholarships to students.

At yesterday’s Montgomery County Commission meeting, the foundation presented ten $1,000 scholarships to students heading to college or trade school.

These scholarships were awarded based on strong academic performance, good attendance, and recommendations from people in the community.

“As we saw in this chamber a few weeks ago, the summer interns are very, very sharp young men and women,” Chief Deputy Kevin Murphy said. “The applicants for this scholarship were just as sharp. They are recent graduates from high school about to start their college careers here very soon, and we couldn’t be more proud of the 10 recipients.”

Four of the scholarships were provided by the sheriff’s office Foundation. The other six were provided by Montgomery County Commissioner Carmen Moore-Zeigler.
