City of Montgomery planning Independence Day celebration

The City of Montgomery is planning an Independence Day celebration at Riverfront Park on Friday, July 4.

The family-friendly event will last from 8PM to 9:30PM and is free. There will be live music from the 151st Alabama Army National Guard Band, followed by fireworks over the Alabama River.

Gates will open at 7:00PM, and you are encouraged to arrive early for security screening. Clear bags are mandatory for quicker entry, and one adult is required per four minor children (ages 17 and under).

You can bring lawn chairs.

Food vendors will be on-site with items such as popcorn, snow cones and lemonade.
