July begins with a good chance for rain, drier by Independence Day

The last day of June was appropriately hot and humid and across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were actually a bit below average for June 30th in most locations. Showers and storms that became scattered about during the afternoon were the reason for that, as they took a bite out of the heat. Showers and storms were lingering across parts of our area through 9PM. However, most gradually fade away overnight. Temperatures fall into the low 70s.

The first day of July looks much like the last day of June. Temperatures warm into the low 90s during the afternoon before showers and storms become scattered to numerous during the afternoon. Some rain lingers into the evening. Rain comes to a close Tuesday night. It looks like a front moves through our area by Wednesday morning. Our weather looks drier but hotter for the rest of the week, with high temperatures in the mid 90s Thursday and Independence Day.
