Montgomery firefighters investigating two house fires

Montgomery firefighters battled two house fires that happened Saturday, June 28.

The first fire was reported around 4:15PM at a home in the 4200 block of Gateway Drive. Montgomery Fire/Rescue Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire was in a single-story home. No one was inside the home at the time. He said a neighbor suffered cuts from broken glass while trying to help put out the fire before firefighters arrived.

The second fire happened just before 7:30PM at a home in the 4600 block of Ray Drive. Cooper said it was also a single-story home. No one was inside.

Investigators are now looking into what started each of the fires.
