MPD graduates 28 cadets in first 2025 Police Academy class
After an intense eight weeks of training, 28 new cadets are earning their certificates from the Montgomery Police Department’s Police Academy.
During their training, the cadets learned how to properly handle firearms, building clearances, field sobriety, how to drive in stressful situations like high-speed chases, and how to better serve their community outside of the uniform.
After listening to some inspiring words from Montgomery city and safety officials, the cadets were awarded their certificates and congratulated by the ones that trained them and their loved ones in the crowd.
The cadets will serve in 13 different departments including several police departments across central Alabama, Montgomery Fire Rescue, UAB Police and Public Safety, and several others.
