Owner of local gun shop hit by theft speaks out to Action 8 News
Last weekend, two gun stores in the Montgomery area were broken into and had items stolen. The owner of Pike Tactical on Chantilly Parkway is talking to Action 8 News about what happened at his store.
As Action 8 News has reported, the burglary at Pike Tactical happened on Saturday, June 28, at about 12:15AM. Police responded to an alarm. It appeared the thief drove a car through the front of the store.
Pike Tactical’s owner James Boyer talked to Action 8’s James Dupree about becoming a crime victim.
“When somebody feels the need or privilege to come in and take things that belong to you, on any level that is a very intrusive thing. It is a traumatizing event that happens.”
Boyer is now taking action to prevent another break-in.
“Inside of here, we’re taking multiple measures for anything that might then be a failure point for us. We are taking multiple measures of physical security and other means that this should not happen again to this extent or at all.”
Boyer says Pike Tactical is a Christ-centered business, even down to the store’s logo.
“I forgive them, it’s what I’m called to do. It’s what Jesus did for me and what I’m going to do for them.”
Police say the other case happened Sunday, June 29, at about 12:24AM. Again, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 1200 block of North Eastern Boulevard at Walter Craig Sportsman’s Headquarters. Officers saw damage to the building and was told by the complainant that merchandise had been stolen.
Montgomery police Sgt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that 21-year-old Ethan Turner has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree theft of property.
