Mid-90° heat, low chances for rain Sunday and early next week
Part two of the holiday weekend was hot across central and south Alabama, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Heat indices were near 100° at times… not great, but it could be worse in early July in our area. Cooling rain was few and far between… only brief, miniature showers formed during the afternoon, and were gone by sunset. The rest of Saturday night looks mainly clear with lows in the low 70s.
Sunday’s weather looks just like Saturday. Temperatures soar into the low and mid 90s during the afternoon, with only stray to isolated showers or storms. Rain coverage remains low Monday, with high temperatures potentially in the mid 90s again. Shower and storm coverage looks higher Tuesday through Friday. That likely helps limit high temperatures in most locations to the low 90s. Next weekend’s weather looks similar, with widely scattered showers and storms.
