Montgomery Public Schools has announced the district’s new Chief of Strategic Partnerships.
On Tuesday, MPS appointed Jade Jones to the position effective immediately. Jones formerly served as MPS’s Chief Communications Officer since 2020.
In her new role, Jones will lead the development, coordination, and management of strategic partnerships that support MPS’s vision of improving academic achievement, expanding student opportunity, and serving the whole child.
Her responsibilities will include cultivating external relationships, aligning resources with district priorities, and driving collaborative initiatives with local businesses, nonprofits, civic organizations, and government partners.
“I am honored to step into this new position and build upon the momentum we’ve created,” said Jones. “As a proud product of MPS, I know we have several key areas to address, and I’m looking forward to partnering with our community to support the students and families of MPS.”
During her tenure as Chief Communications Officer, Jones implemented strategies to build stronger communication capacities, strengthened parent and community engagement, and led efforts with clarity and compassion. In her new role, she will serve on the executive leadership team, work closely with district leadership, and ensure MPS remains a trusted and collaborative partner in Montgomery’s future.
“Jade Jones has been an invaluable member of the MPS leadership team,” said Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd. “Her relationship skills, deep understanding of our community, and proven ability to connect people and resources make her the ideal leader for this important work. We are excited to see her continue to elevate our district through innovative partnerships.”
