ACTION 8 UPDATE:

An Amber Alert has been canceled after the suspect in the double murder investigation in Auburn is in custody and the child is safe.

Auburn police say around 7:15 a.m., the United States Marshals Service, in conjunction with the FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, took 41-year-old Aaron Dontay Williams into custody.

Investigators say the child was located unharmed.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Department Investigations Section at 334-501-3140.

An Amber Alert has been issued in a double murder investigation in Auburn.

Auburn police say around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 1200 block of Samantha Court in response to a welfare check.

Once they arrived, they found a deceased adult female and a deceased juvenile female.

Officers were additionally notified of a four-year-old boy who was missing from the home.

The husband of the deceased adult female and the father of the missing child, 41-year-old Aaron Dontay Williams, was not at the home when officers arrived.

Police believe that the child, Jibreel Harun, may be with the father in a gray 2010 Honda Accord displaying Alabama tag 43A224A.

Williams is described as 6’1″ and weighs approximately 240 lbs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Auburn Police department at 334-501-7313 immediately. The public is advised to call 911 and not to engage Williams if spotted as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
