Still hot and humid but with higher chances for rain through Friday

Our area was still mainly dry at midday Thursday, but showers and storms become more likely during the afternoon and evening. Before cooling rain arrives, temperatures top out in the low to mid 90s with heat indices near 100°. Showers and storms fade away by around midnight Thursday night. The sky becomes partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid 70s.

Friday features another good chance for rain, mainly during the afternoon. Scattered to numerous showers and storms develop after midday. Temperatures still warm into the low 90s before cooling rain arrives. With an earlier start time, showers and storms fade away earlier Friday evening. Friday night becomes mainly dry with a clearing sky.

Rain chances look lower again over the weekend. However, isolated to widely scattered showers and storms still form each day. High temperatures range from the low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures may be in the mid 90s in many locations early next week, while rain chances remain low Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances look higher for the rest of the week, with high temperatures back in the low 90s Wednesday through Friday.
