Low rain chances early this week, mid-90° heat potential continues
Sunday was *another* hot July day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were in the mid 90s in many locations, while heat indices were in excess of 100° at times. Fortunately, a decent amount of showers and storms formed during the afternoon and evening, so many locations received heat relief in the form of rain. Showers and storms faded away shortly after 10PM. The rest of the night looks dry with a clearing sky and lows in the low to mid 70s.
High temperatures reach the mid 90s Monday, Tuesday, and potentially Wednesday afternoon. Rain coverage looks isolated Monday and Tuesday. However, showers and storms may become more widely scattered Wednesday. Showers and storms may become scattered to numerous late this week. Next weekend features at least scattered showers and storms Saturday and Sunday. Higher rain chances reduce the heat, with highs in the low 90s Thursday and beyond.
