Drier, hotter Sunday; Mid-90° heat, not much rain early next week

Saturday was a hot and humid day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were in the low to mid 90s, with heat indices over 100° at times. However, none of our area was under a heat advisory. Showers and storms were isolated in nature through the late afternoon, though a few storms produced heavy rain and frequent lightning. Some showers or storms linger Saturday evening, then fade away overnight with a clearing sky and lows in the mid 70s.

Sunday looks drier and hotter. High temperatures likely reach the mid 90s in many locations. However, heat indices may surpass 100° at times. Showers and storms remain isolated during the afternoon. Rain chances remain low early next week. Meanwhile, high temperatures likely stay in the mid 90s Monday and Tuesday. Showers and storms become scattered about each day for the rest of the week. Although, high temperatures likely remain in the mid 90s.
