Montgomery firefighters battle blaze at storage building overnight
Firefighters responded to the 2500 block of Poplar Street at around 1:41 A.M. for a possible structure fire.

MONTGOMERY, Ala (WAKA Action 8) – Investigators are looking into what caused a structure fire at a storage building early Monday morning.
According to Montgomery Fire/Rescue’s Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Cooper, firefighters responded to the 2500 block of Poplar Street at around 1:41 A.M. for a possible structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story, storage structure with visible smoke and flames.
Chief Cooper says the fire spread to a nearby storage building in another yard. Crews laid hand lines around the structures to help put out the fires.
Fire crews searched but found no one nearby. Chief Cooper also says no one was injured during the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
