ACTION 8 UPDATE: Homicide investigation launched after Montgomery shooting victim dies

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have launched a homicide investigation after the victim in a recent shooting died of his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Desanco Smith of Montgomery. 

As Action 8 News has reported, on Sunday, July 20, at 1:40AM, police and fire medics were called to the 3200 block of Meadow Lane, which is in a neighborhood near Woodley Road, south of the bypass.

That’s where they found Smith, who was taken to a hospital where he later died.
