A Millbrook attorney has been arrested on several charges of distributing child pornography.

According to Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson, 65-year-old John David Norris was taken into custody yesterday on four counts of dissemination of child pornography. Norris is being held in the Elmore County Jail on an $80,000 bond.

Johnson said on February 14, 2024, his department got a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that someone in his jurisdiction was allegedly downloading and sharing images of child pornography.

Later that month, Johnson said a suspect was developed and search warrants were executed at two locations in Millbrook. During the search of Norris’ home and office, multiple electronic devices were seized.

Johnson said after the devices were analyzed, with the help of the ALEA computer forensics unit. An Elmore County Grand Jury determined that enough probable cause existed and an indictment was issued against Norris.

“This case has been under investigation for a lengthy period of time,” Johnson said. “In an investigation such as this, there is a lot of time-consuming research and analysis that has to be completed prior to taking a case to the district attorney’s office. Detectives of the Millbrook Police Department are members of the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force. This task force is a national network of law enforcement task forces dedicated to investigating and prosecuting crimes involving the exploitation of children facilitated by the internet and other technologies.”
