Some Serious Heat In Store For Next Week

A summer heat wave is setting up for early next week. Temps will soar into the upper 90s for highs. Heat indices could be hovering around the 110 degree mark.   It’s going to be an extremely hot period and now’s the time to prepare and make sure your family has sufficient cooling to get through it.

In the meantime, scattered showers and t-storms will advance across the area Saturday.   Not everyone will see the rain activity.  Where the storms do occur you can expect a brief downpour with gusty winds and lightning.  The storms will weaken and die out during the evening hours. Overnight will be partly cloudy with temps only falling into the  mid 70s.

Sunday through Wednesday is looking rather hot and humid!  High pressure builds back down into the area and that will help limit showers and storm development.  Temps will be heading into the mid to upper 90s.  You factor in the humidity and it will feel more 105 to 110.  This type heat will be dangerous for some and precautions should be taken to beat the heat. Make sure there’s sufficient cooling for you and your family.  Fortunately, our rain chances will be increasing over the latter half of next week.  Scattered showers and t-storms will help combat the extreme heat in spots.
