ACTION 8 UPDATE: Troy police have released the names of three people who were killed in a series of shootings on Sunday, July 20.

Police say after an investigating and autopsies, they have determined that 23-year-old Johnathan Rayvon Williams of Troy was responsible for the deaths of 42-year-old Christopher Stanford of Ozark and 33-year-old Aquantis Thomas of Troy.

As Action 8 News has reported, at about 10:25PM that night, police say Williams forcibly entered a home in the 100 block of New Street and shot and killed Stanford.

Police say Williams then walked up the street where he encountered Thomas, who was sitting inside his girlfriend’s car. They say Williams shot Thomas, then pulled him from the car and drove away in it.

A short time later, officers found the car on North Three Notch Street near Needmore Road. Williams was found dead in the driver’s seat from what has been determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say the motive remains unknown. There does not appear to be any known relationship between Williams and his victims.

The Troy Police Department is continuing to investigate with the help of the Pike County District Attorney’s Office.
